HANNAH Russell of Kelly College has been in Montreal, Canada representing Great Britain at the IPC World Swimming Championships during the past week.
Hannah, who has just turned 17 this month, came away from Montreal with five medals; one gold, three silvers and a bronze in the S12, which is for swimmers with a visual impairment.
Hannah won her world title in the 100m backstroke in a new British record; her silvers came in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 100m butterfly and she achieved bronze in the 400m freestyle.
Robin Brew, director of swimming at Kelly College, said Hannah was the school's very own 'international superstar' and that the team at Kelly were 'so proud' of her achievements.
Hannah will now have a well-deserved rest before starting her training at Kelly College in September where she is working on a BTEC course.
