ANYONE who has recently suffered hearing loss, who is over 60, and would like to gain better understanding about how to live with the condition, is invited to a free deaf awareness workshop on February 27.

The workshop will include facts about the deaf and deafness, understanding the ranges of hearing loss, information about hearing aids, lip reading and British Sign Language, equipment and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and communication tips.

There will also be an opportunity for all delegates to learn some basic sign language on the day.

The workshop will take place at the Anchorage Centre in Tavistock from 10am to noon. Interested people are advised to book early as places are limited.
