KELLY House is hosting the fifth Woolly Weekend this Saturday and Sunday (October 10 and 11) and guests will enter through a magical knitted water world!

The event — in support of Childrens’ Hospice South West — showcases some of the best producers of wool and natural fibre in the South West, from fleece and yarn to knitted and crocheted outfits, felted hats and even artwork.

And this year, in an attempt to beat the huge installations of previous years, Allison Murray will be installing the underwater scene from her ‘Above and Below’ exhibition in the entrance way.

It will dominate the entrance to the grade I listed home, filling the whole of the old parlour with an underwater scene.

The carders, spinners, knitters and weavers will be on hand to help stock up with the winter wardrobe and many of the old favourites will be back with plenty of ideas for projects and presents for the colder months.

See advert on the arts and events section on page 18 for more information.
