TAVISTOCK Golf Club Ladies had their guest day on August 2 and at last had wonderful weather. The winners were Nicky Gaman and Jane Stribley with 42 points; 2, Barbara Porter and Dawn Phillott with 39 points; 3, Wendy Wroe and Jane Wright with 37 points; 4, Margaret Foster and Beryl Walke with 37 points; 5, Beverley Ruth and Joyce Ruth with 35 points. Winners of the front nine were Wendy Hanwell and Sheila Webster; back nine Victoria Hayden-Foster and Barbara Periton; nearest the pin on the 7th was Hazel Williamson; longest drive was Dawn Phillott. The monthly medal and Goddard Smith trophy was played on August 9. The winners were: Division 1, Trudi Luke with net 72, runner-up Jacky James with 73. Division 2, Janet Walls with net 70, runner-up Lyn Swift with net 71. The Goddard Smith trophy was won by Janet Walls.
