LADIES from Bere Alston Bowling Club did a Wombleing village clean-up last Wednesday to promote the open day for the club.  

The open day is on Saturday May 15 from 10am to 4pm and everyone is welcome. Coaching is available for new bowlers on the day and established bowlers are welcome to try out the facilities. Social membership is also available.

The bar will be open and refreshments will be available all day with bacon rolls. There will also be a table top sale throughout the day. Tables available at £5. There is limited space so call to book.

There will be bangers and mash in the evening with live music from Short Notice, performing hits from the Eagles, Dire Straits, Simply Red and more.  They also do a special full dress impersonation of Elvis.

Entrance is by ticket only in advance, £6 to include bangers and mash.  Food between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Music starts at 8pm. For tickets call 01822 841664.
