Okehampton Ladies 1
Totnes Ladies 0
A VITAL bottom of the table dogfight, this was never going to be an attractive game. Okehampton had most of the play in the first 15 minutes with Naomi Wilkins breaking through and putting them 1-0 up.
The back four of Sam Burdus, Ceri Chapman, Kayleigh Smale and Miki Burdus stopped any attacks Totnes had. In midfield. Zoe Elliott-Shircore, Michelle Vaughan, Hayleigh Vincent and Stacey Moys were in control. Kerrie Drew in goal for Okehampton only touched the ball twice in the first half.
In the second half Okehampton played into what turned out to be a stronger wind. Kerrie Drew pulled off an amazing fingertip save when the ball took a wicked bounce.
Okehampton changed their shape in the second half and brought Kelly Cann on to play three up front.
One piece of bad news for the Ladies was that Naomi Wilkins had a bad fall and injured her ankle.
Okehampton deserved this win and it sets up an interesting game against Totnes again in a fortnight.
