EXCELLENT rides by members of Tavistock Wheelers brought a brace of good results at the recent Teign Valley Hily last weekend, a 23-mile time trial race held in increasingly wet conditions.
Henry Foxhall won the junior class in a time of 1:05:56, 45:18 at 1,000 ft, while Jo Kelsey won the women's class in 1:12:19, 49:26 at 1,000 ft.
They were each awarded £10 prizes by the organisers, Mid Devon Cycling Club.
The strong south west wind blowing during the race blew the riders to speeds of 30mph plus in the sheltered Teign Valley Road, but hopes of breaking any course records were lost by the strong head-wind during the final miles.
