A WEST Devon couple were joined by family members to celebrate their 65-year marriage recently.
Childhood sweethearts Joan and Peter Palmer met when they were 14 years old on Valentine’s Day and were married four years later.
On August 26 they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary by having afternoon tea with their daughter and son-in-law.
They celebrated further that weekend with more of their family, including grandchildren, by having a garden party in Townlake.
The couple have only lived in Tavistock for two years but have joined various groups and enjoy gardening and reading.
They most enjoy eating ice cream on the moors while watching the ponies.
