SO, once again, Pixon Lane was shut for just over a week due to further damage being caused to the redundant railway bridge, resulting in even greater traffic chaos in the town centre, particularly Plymouth Road and Bedford Square.

Pixon Lane is fast becoming Tavistock's version of the A30 at Goss Moor before the bypass was built but at least the railway bridge at that location serves a necessary purpose.

Can anybody tell me why this bridge cannot be demolished as it will never ever be used again even for either of the possible railway schemes that have been discussed? If it has to stay, perhaps an additional sign in metric should be added as I'm certain that continental drivers do not understand feet and inches!
