RESULTS were generally poor in the league for Tavistock Tennis Club last week, with the exception of the ladies? B team, and it was unfortunate that two matches had to be postponed due to poor weather.

Seniors: Men?s A team lost 2-7 away against St Budeaux A. Simon Thomas/Sean Jefferson v their pair; 0-2 sets: v 2nd pair; 1-1 (not completed). Terry Lanchbery/Josh Brown v their 1st pair; 0-2: v 2nd pair 1-2.

B team drew 4-4 at home against Mannamead B. Phil Harbottle/Bernard Mowle v their 1st pair; 6-4, 6-4: v 2nd pair; 6-2, 7-5. Jonathan Stephens/Ray Hinton v their 1st pair; 2-6, 2-6: v 2nd pair; 4-6, 0-6.

C and E team matches postponed due to weather.

D team lost 4-5 away against Ivybridge D. David Isaac/Mike Jefferies v their 1st pair; 4-6, 3-6: v 2nd pair; 4-6, 3-6. Malcolm Tripp/David Anning v their 1st pair; 4-6, 6-3, 6-2: v 2nd pair; 6-3, 6-4.

Ladies? A team lost 2-6 at home against Russell A. Tric Locker/Tric Mowle v their 1st pair; 1-6, 1-6: v 2nd pair; 6-4, 6-3. Olga Rogers/Nikki Hoar v their 1st pair; 3-6, 1-6: v 2nd pair; 6-7, 3-6. B team won 6-3 away against Saltash. Di Kersey/Annie Jefferies v their 1st pair; 0-2: v 2nd pair; 2-0. Anne Bruce/Sue Whitman v their 1st pair; 2-1: v 2nd pair; 2-0.

C team lost 0-8 away against Devonshire B. Tavistock team: Babette Jackson/Melody Mason and Gaynor Pollard/Josie Gerhold.
