THREE teenagers were rescued from the banks of the River Tavy after a two-hour search involving a helicopter and lifeboats last Thursday night.
Police received a call at about 10.30pm from two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, who had became lost in woods at Tamerton Foliot.
A police helicopter, two lifeboats and coastguard search teams scoured the area before they were found.
The teenagers were rescued near Bere Ferrers. The emergency services said they had a 'lucky escape'.
Mick Cook, of Brixham Coastguards, said: 'It could have been very dangerous with all the creeks in the area.
'The safety message is let people know where you're going and wear appropriate clothing.'
