POLICE are warning car owners to secure their vehicles properly after two incidents of theft in the Callington area. Between 6pm on Saturday, December 10 and 10am on Sunday, December 11 a blue BMW in Lower Metherell was entered after the owner left the car door open. An audio shop compact CD player, along with 10 CDs, worth £270, was stolen. In Higher Metherall on the same weekend between 9pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday a blue Peugeot was also entered. Items stolen were a JVC CD player, 20 CDs, the remote control for the owner?s garage door, plus the MoT and insurance certificate. Police believe these two incidents are connected. On Tuesday, December 13 at 6.30pm youths put petrol onto rubbish building material in Chantry Park. Callington Police warn this could have progressed into a serious fire.
