Wheal Benny and the remaining elements of the mine's production process will be explored on a guided walk arranged by Calstock Footpath Society.

The parish of Calstock is littered with with old mining sites, many of which are subject to recovery and regeneration to preserve the area's mining heritage.

This walk, led by Stephen Docksey, a local mine historian, introduces participants to Wheal Benny and the remaining elements.

Taking in part of the Tamar Valley Discovery Trail, the walk starts at Luckett (OS ref 389 737) and will include a short diversion to view a section of the Deerpark Mine.

The walk, under five miles and unsuitable for dogs, will take place on Saturday, November 22. Meet at 11am at the small car park in Luckett, or park on the hill down from Monkscross with due consideration to residents.
