AS part of their Community Matters programme, Okehampton's Waitrose store have donated £397 to the Okehampton COTN Buds toddler group.

Launched in 2008, the Community Matters Initiative has donated more than £3-million to a range of charities and community groups. Using tokens at the till, customers decide how to distribute a £1,000 monthly total between three local charities and organisations.

COTN Buds operates at the Inspiration Centre on Northfield Road on Friday mornings between 9.15 and 11.15am through school term time. There is a friendly welcome for all pre-school children and their parents. Activities include story and song time, as well as healthy snacks. They re-open on Friday May 6.
