A GOOD response to the Tavistock regeneration questionnaire published in the Times two weeks ago has been welcomed by the chairman of Tavistock Forward, John Taylor.
The questionnaire follows a series of Towns Alive meetings with business consultant Graham Vallis last year.
The regeneration meetings were brought to the town by Tavistock Forward with the aid of new European Objective 2 money.
As a result of the meetings, hundreds of thoughts and ideas are being brought together as a blueprint for Tavistock's future.
Mr Taylor said: 'There has been a good response to the questionnaire with approximately 100 replies and these will be incorporated into the action plan.'
Mr Taylor said the results of the competition to think up a Tavistock town slogan would be judged at the end of the month.
At the Towns Alive meeting last week the group of businesses who have regularly attended examined the 166 key points identified as being important to Tavistock.
Mr Vallis said: 'No-one person or organisation can regenerate or develop a town or community. If it was as easy as that it would happen naturally and with little effort.
'Only by coming together as a cohesive and creative group, engaging with a town's fund holders and stakeholders, can real progress be ensured.'
A meeting will be held in the Bedford Hotel at 6.30pm on February 21 to finalist the draft action plan for Tavistock.
