CHILDREN and staff at St Peter's Primary School say they are devastated, after vandals attacked the school over the bank holiday weekend.

Staff returned to the school to find a shed window had been smashed and separate glass had been smashed in the garden area.

As well as the vandalism, Whitchurch Montessori Nursery, which now runs from St Peter's School also had its shed broken into.

The hinges were taken out of the door and three bikes were stolen from inside.

Nikki Mackenzie, St Peter's School business manager, said: 'The nursery have only had the bikes since September, and the school children have just finished getting their garden area ready for spring.

'It's heartbreaking for everyone involved.'
