BROADBAND providers are refusing to connect a Mid Devon village unless more people sign up for the service.
Graham Daniel, campaigner for broadband in Cheriton Bishop, said he appreciated the efforts of the 40 villagers who had requested broadband internet but still needed more names if the village was to be connected.
He said: ?I am still seeking an additional 110 households to register their interest in the scheme to enable the community to receive broadband.
It provides faster internet connection and downloading and also allows businesses and families to use video conferencing, constant e-mail access and online banking without tying up the phone line.?
Mr Daniel was quick to point out that registering an interest does not commit householders to buying the service and asked interested parties to register online at http://www.bt.com/broadband/">www.bt.com/broadband/
