WITH Valentine?s Day just around the corner a new alternative to speed dating is coming to Okehampton. Lock and Key is the latest exciting way of socialising for single people, which is new to this area. On arrival, each guest is greeted, the gentlemen receive a key and the ladies a lock. They then order their free drink from the bar. Their mission is then to match as many keys with locks as possible during the first part of the evening with prizes for the guest with the most successful matches. Organisers say the aim is not only to bring couples together, but also to give people the chance to make new and varied friendships in a fun atmosphere. They say Lock and Key was especially good for people who felt shy as it was more relaxed than speed dating, where the pressure was on with only a few minutes to chat to a prospective partner. The second phase of the evening includes fun and activities with prizes on offer. The Okehampton event is being staged at the White Hart Hotel, on February 11, at 8pm.
