Duchy division 1 Lamerton 6 St Merryn 0 LAMERTON hosted fourth place St Merryn in a game forecasted to be a close contest. However, it ended in a comfortable win for Lamerton in a disappointing game, where neither team really impressed. Lamerton went 2-0 up inside ten minutes: Pete Broomfield scoring both through a Panda Williams well placed corner and a soft penalty. It stayed 2-0 until half time, with the game appearing scrappy and uneventful. Lamerton scored early in the second half, again through Broomfield. James Healy produced a faultless display in centre midfield with his constant running and exertion and he deservedly got on the score sheet with a super strike into the corner. Steve Gibbings picked up his act in the second half by moving to the centre of midfield, and he was just as energetic in the tackle; a quality that St Merryn couldn?t deal with. Two more goals came through Dave Byworth and Broomfield again, for his 4th to leave a very anticlimactic top of the table clash, which saw Lamerton return back to the top of the table. This week, home to Pensilva 2.30pm kick off.
