Plymouth Arguam U15s 5pts Tavistock U15s 33pts AN excellent display of running rugby and defensive tackling saw Tavistock kick off the season in style. Early pressure produced good handling resulting in Jack Lindsey being squeezed into touch in the corner. From a five metre penalty Tavistock?s Joe Hair drove for the line before offloading and Dan Oner cut through the defence to score. Arguam hit back with a kick and chase, which resulted in a try. A scrum just outside the 22 saw good handling on the wing and resulted in scrum half Niall Murphy bursting through for a try for the visitors. In the second half excellent handling by the backs saw the ball offloaded to Tom Rickard who burst through from the 22 to score. From a scrum on halfway the ball was moved out to the wing for Tom Simmons to score under the posts. Sustained pressure by Arguam saw Tavistock pinned back on their own line but their defence held firm. From a five metre scrum an excellent kick by Rufus Gould cleared the ball to halfway where Tavistock gained possession and excellent handling by Tom Simmons, Dan Oner and Chris Cowie allowed Tom Rickard to burst away and score under the posts for the try of the game. Tom Thursby kicked three conversions and Josh Leeson one.
