TAVISTICK Swimming Club welcomed Devonport Swimming Club to their friendly gala at Meadowlands on Saturday with both clubs making the much appreciated effort to field two teams.

Tavistock?s head coach Paul Chinn reported that both Tavistock?s teams swam very well with Tavistock A taking first place and Tavistock B coming in third place, despite being unable to field a full team.

The friendly competition gave swimmers from both clubs an opportunity to swim in events in which they do not normally compete.

It was a particularly successful evening for Will Crocker, Tom Crocker and Kirsty Best, all of whom achieved no fewer than three individual first places.

Barnaby Frost, Tom Grennan-Cruise and Rebecca Windemer were all representing Tavistock for the first time and all swam very well, with Tom gaining first place in the 10/under 50m backstroke.
