AROUND 80 householders in the north west of Tavistock were plunged into darkness on Tuesday evening after a fault caused a power cut at around 9pm.
A spokesperson for Western Power Distribution said most homes had their power restored within ten minutes, but about 30 did not receive any electricity until 11pm.
The spokeswoman said: ?We have located the fault and carried out repairs to the nearby sub-station which should hold out.?
The spokeswoman said the fault affecting terminators at the sub station required further work and a ?planned shut down? would be carried out later this month.
All customers likely to be affected by the shut down will be informed before the work is carried out.
