AN appeal for two community minded people willing to volunteer some time and energy to their town came from Hatherleigh Town Council this week.
Two members of the council have resigned in the last six weeks for work or personal reasons and new councillors are urgently being sought.
The town has been heavily affected by the foot and mouth crisis and has been earmarked to receive up to £1-million to revitalise the area by the South West Rural Development Agency.
Rosemary Lock, Hatherleigh town clerk, said: 'This is going to be an exciting time in this next year for Hatherleigh, and the town council is hoping to play its part.'
The council meets on the second Tuesday of every month — the next meeting will be held on June 12.
Anybody interested in standing for the council should contact Rosemary Lock on 01837 804254.
