AN annual walk through West Devon organised by Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team is being staged next month. The '12 Across and 2 Down' walk will start at Venford Reservoir on Holne Moor at 9am on Saturday, February 24 and will finish at Princetown Primary School. The walk will give participants the opportunity to visit 12 ancient and two modern crosses, while walking part of the ancient track known as the Maltern Way. This will be the ninth year this event has taken place. DSRT look forward to seeing past walkers and hopefully some who will be trying the walk out for the first time. DSRT will be manning the check points and will have a sweep team and safety cover along the route from the start, until all walkers are off the moor. Booking forms are available from Sue Britten.
