TAVISTOCK Miniature Rifle Club held a dinner and presentation evening recently at the Blacksmiths Arms, Lamerton, when about 40 members and friends attended.

It was the first held for many years and it is hoped it will become an annual event. More than 30 trophies and cups were presented by Mrs Lobb, club president.

In the light sporting rifle section the C team, A Lloyd, J Olver and L Curtis received cups for winning the Devon Winter league division 6.

In the Exeter and district summer individual league, D Whear and A Lloyd won their divisions and G Willcock and D Hicks had seconds.

In the prone rifle section, the Eley competition, D Hicks and J Gist had qualifying medals for reaching round two. J Gist went on to Bisley for round three and won a glass vase.

In the National short range competition, best average medals: A Tobbell and S Collins.

In Devon County shoots: the Henry Dart winner, L S Beer.
