THE revival of the popular Autumn Trail eight-mile cross-country race took place at Newnham Park, Plympton

The course which includes muddy puddles, tree roots, trails through the woods, hard steep hills and five river crossings saw a number of local runners from Bere Alston Trekker's and Tavistock Athletic Club, the Saturday morning ladies only track sessions and the Monday evening Men Only winter training sessions.

There were some superb times from the West Devon groups of athletes and for some this was their first race in many years.  First runner home for the group were Tony Shearer and Jemma Sharman for Tavistock, who were closely followed by Derek Hicks and Dotty Allan for the Bats.

Other good times were achieved by Kathryn and Paul Brimble, Lynne Sugge, Bryony Fordham and Kelvin Stagg.
