TAVISTOCK's new Oxfam Bookshop was officially opened by youngest volunteer Harriet Boston, 15 and oldest volunteer, Margaret Macnally, 81, on Saturday, together with local author Lillian Harry.

The new bookshop replaces the Oxfam clothes and homeware store that previously occupied the site in Market Street and offers customers the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of second hand books at low prices.

It is anticipated that this new larger shop will generate three times as much income for Oxfam than its predecessor on North Street.

Any book donations are gratefully received. There is also an ongoing need for volunteers at the shop; application forms can be picked up from any Oxfam store. For further information contact Val Sharpe on 01822 613901 or Jacky Theobald in Oxfam in West Street on 01822 615534.
