A MAN was rescued by firefighters last Sunday after his leg was trapped under a stair lift. One crew from Yelverton attended the property in Meavy Lane, Yelverton just after 9.45pm. Firefighters discovered the man with crush injuries to his leg. The crew used small tools to release him and gave him oxygen therapy for the pain. The ambulance service also attended. l Firefighters were called to a collision involving two vehicles, outside the Harvest Home Pub in Gulworthy last Saturday. One crew from Tavistock and Bere Alston attended the scene at 3pm after receiving a call from the ambulance service that people were possibly trapped, but on arrival the crews discovered that no-one was trapped. The crews made the vehicles safe while one female casualty was attended to by ambulance staff.
