A TALK based on the restoration of the walled gardens at Maristow is being held at the United Reformed Church in Tavistock on Tuesday evening (March 8).

Jenny Tunley-Price will be giving the talk at the event hosted by Transition Tavistock, in place of the March 'Green Drinks' which had been scheduled for the same evening.

Transition Tavistock will be staging three further 'Spring into Summer Sessions' at the United Reformed Church in Russell Street. On May 11, there will be a talk from a member of the Embercombe community near Exeter, who battled for years with the planning authorities to safeguard their sustainable way of life; on June 22 two films will be shown focusing on predicted shifts in the global economy and lifestyle changes, and on July 27 the film 'In Transition' charting a year in the life of the transition movement will be shown.

Doors open at 7pm, with the films and talks starting at 7.30pm. Admission is by donation.

'Green Drinks', an informal gathering for people who care about the environment and a sustainable Tavistock, will return in April to its customary slot on the second Tuesday of every month, at 7.30pm at the Market Inn, Tavistock.
