PINK was the order of the day in Tavistock last month as a fun fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK. Businesses, schools and many individuals helped raisemore than £2,500 for the charity by donning pink wigs and zany costumes on Friday October 5. The total collected was £2,530.50. The following businessed and schools donated these amounts: St Rumon?s School £72; The Works Hairdressers £24.32; Tavistock Pannier Market stall holders £158.98; Pink Ball dance £100.11; Tavistock County Primary £100; T J?s Fish and Chip Shop £166.20 Union Inn £377.02; Lawsons £15.65; Duke?s Coffee House £43; Vaughan?s Hair Salon Brook Street £97.59; Vaughan?s Hair Salon Market Road £29.12; Jack and Jill?s Fish Shop £125.70; E J Arundell £15.65; Name the doll competition £38; Fulfords Estate Agents, Tavistock £ 20.50; Times £500. The remainder of monies collected ? £646.66 ? was from the sale of badges, wigs, tee shirts, key fobs rings and ducks.
