FOUR young West Devon ballet dancers are travelling to London once a month for special tuition after being awarded associateships.
The children, two from Sampford Courtenay and two from Bow, attend the Langton School of Dance, being taught by Francesca Brown ? who is based in Launceston but who also teaches in Okehampton and South Zeal.
In June they went to London for auditions at the Cechetti Society in Chiswick, which was founded in 1918 by Italian dancer Enrico Cechetti. Some of the biggest names in classical ballet have been trained using his method.
Lauren Blackmur, 10, and her sister Chloe, 8, from Sampford Courtenay, were awarded junior associateships and twins Luke and Bryony Tayler from Bow, senior associateships.
The four dancers are continuing with their lessons locally while receiving the best ballet tuition available in London.
Lauren and Chloe?s mother, Sally, said the associateships continued for a year, but they would have to audition again in June of next year to continue.
She said Lauren and Chloe had been dancing since they were three and just took it in their stride.
