TAVISTOCK resident Tony Kaminski was the lucky winner of this year's Christmas draw, organised by the town's Lions club.

He recently received his prize, of a limited edition print of a painting by Italian artist Vidan, from Richard Hamer, the president of the Lions Club.

Richard thanked Martin and Nina Hawkins of the Tavistock Picture Framing Company for once again supplying the first prize and Morrisons and Focus for allowing the club to sell tickets on their premises.

Lion Chris Northey, who organised the draw on behalf of the Club, said that just over £1,000 had been raised and this will be used to support local children's charities in the coming year as and when requests for support are received.
