Tavistock Colts 17

Tiverton Colts 28

TAVISTOCK picked up this late fixture hoping to continue last week's success, but it was not to be.

Tiverton opened the scoring after a long individual run through weak tackling but Tavistock replied with three tries if the first half from Rowe (2) and Boreham, Rowe converting his second helped by a lucky gust of wind.

Tiverton replied with two converted tries soon after the break after sloppy Tavistock defending and added a third late in the game to deny Tavistock victory.

On the plus side, Braithewaite looked dangerous on the wing but could have used closer support. Moy at scrum half enjoyed a good first game of the season.

Skipper Boreham could not find the gaps in a tight defence but tackled well. Lobban at outside centre made several good breaks through a scattered midfield. Flanker Gorman took an early knock in the ribs that prevented him from playing his usual dominant game. Forwards Vince and Wheatley worked hard but the pack in general looked jaded.

This Saturday away to Okehampton Colts.
