VET Caroline Radley and veterinary nurse Claire from Westmoor Veterinary Practice in Tavistock recently visited the children of Whitchurch Pre-School to talk with them about how to look after animals.

The children talked to Caroline and Claire about their pets and met Charlie, the life-size toy dog.

They had great fun feeding him, brushing him and bandaging him. The children were able to use stethoscopes to place on Charlie's chest and could listen to their own hearts beating.

Some of the children dressed in a vet's surgical gown.

The children have now set up the pre-school role play area as a veterinary practice.

Thanks were expressed to Westmoor Vets for visiting the children and providing some of the resources to facilitate the children's role play.
