OKEHAMPTON put pressure on the Budleigh defence from the first whistle and in the third minute Robbie Miller struck Okehampton?s first goal, side footing in a Michael Vernon cross. Okehampton kept the pressure and Robbie Sandercock scored the first of his two goals running on to a sublime pass from Ewan Simpson to easily beat the keeper.
Robbie Sandercock made it 3-0 in the 42nd minute when he latched on to a partially cleared ball and slammed in his shot from 12 yards out.
With the game all but won in the first half the players conserved their energy a bit with some tough matches still to come but were still too good for Budleigh to breakdown.
Budleigh got into the game late in the half and had two chances well saved by Chris Dearing. But the final chances of the match fell to Okehampton Paul Yip missing a good chance and Robbie Miller had a shoot go over the bar.
This was an excellent all round performance from Okehampton who are now back in with a shout of a runners-up spot especially after close rivals, Seaton Town, lost to Pinhoe.
Okehampton have now moved into third place, three points behind Seaton Town with two games in hand.
