THERE was a big demand for the mobility scooters being supplied by Tavistock Shopmobility at the Okehampton Show. Even before the show had started its eight scooters were booked up and its customers revving to go!

As part of Tavistock Area Support Services the Shopmobility is one of the many benefits offered to its clients, many who are elderly and/or disabled. It is also a day centre, a welcoming drop-in centre, a provider of transport services and a friendly place to go to for information and advice.

TASS manager Andy Lyle said: "This is our fourth year here and all the scooters are booked out well before the show. We do other local shows such as Chagford, Widecombe and Launceston and our eight scooters don't stand still for long!'
