SCILLY singers will be entertaining in West Devon this Saturday with songs from the sea.
Bere Ferrers Social Club will play host to Bone Idol, a group of singers from the Isles of Scilly. The eight 'lads from Scilly' specialise in sea shanties and other songs of the sea, with a strong flavour of the Cornish male voice tradition.
Clive Charlton, a member of Bere Ferrers' own singing group the 'Tavy Tars', said: 'With several members in their thirties, they're keeping the traditional songs alive among the islands, combining great harmonies with a relaxed and lively style.'
The event starts from around 8.15pm. Bone Idol will be supported by the Tavy Tars and local group Ferrers Reel.
