Tavistock RFC U13s 37

Plymstock U13s 3

IN wet and windy conditions Tavistock played some of the best rugby of the season, shrewdly using the elements to the best advantage.

Against weakened opposition, their forwards took the early advantage with a try from O?Neill. This was swiftly followed by tries from Lane and Milligan who also converted.

In the second half the floodgates opened and forward power dominated again with tries run in from Lashbrook, Leeson, Lane and Warlow.

In the backs the strength of running from Alex Cuthbert won him man of the match, closely followed by James and the ever improving form of Alex Evans on the wing. The forward battle was dominated in the loose by Morgan, Smith, Smerdon and Culvert.

This Sunday, Tavistock are in the semi-finals of the Devon Cup with a home tie against Ivybridge. This is a keenly anticipated duel as the two sides were only separated by eight points when they last met in January.

A win will see the first junior club into the cup finals for ten seasons and indicates the new stars of tomorrow to support the senior club. Kick-off 11am.
