AFTER a number of failed diets, Jayne Porter (pictured above) found success thanks to group weigh ins — and after losing four stone, can now fit herself and her daughter into her old jeans.
Jayne joined Slimming World at the United Reform Church in Tavistock, and with weekly meetings and group support, she lost four stone in ten months.
She said: 'I've never felt so nervous walking up the ramp and through the doors, but I was met with smiles and a very warm welcome. It was like meeting old friends for a cuppa'.
Jayne found the new diet easy to stick with as no foods were off limits. She admitted that as with any diet she had experienced high and low points, but being part of a group helped her through.
'I've had encouraging texts and recipe suggestions to keep me focussed and fruit bowls and certificates as rewards when I've done well,' said Jayne.
Jayne will allow herself the ultimate treat when she reaches her target weight, which she believes is not too far away.
'My ultimate dream is to own an Austin Ruby and drive it to vintage rallies,' said Jayne.
