FATHER Christmas could be in for a tough time when the Phoenix Youth Theatre presents its first production at Bridestowe Village Hall on Friday and Saturday.
The Bridestowe based company are performing 'That's No Way to Treat Father Christmas' about a totally revolting family — except for one young member — who are not that nice to Santa when he comes a visiting.
The fun production is written, directed and produced by John Haley. Kelsey Douglas has arranged the choreography.
Tricia Alston, who runs the company with John, said the play is for all the family — but especially one to amuse the younger ones.
Rachel England takes on the Father Christmas role with Kelsey Douglas as the Narrator, while Trish herself is Mrs Cork. Josie is played by Josie Ryland, The Vicar by Tom Ryland, Sister Angelina by Charlotte Stanbury.
The Phoenix Youth Theatre came together in March and since then have already recorded two CDs, The Secret Life and Monster School.
The group, whose ages range from seven to 18, is anticipating a £5,000 grant from Devon County Council to buy a movable stage, lighting, a CD player, props and stage make up.
Tickets are available for 'That's No Way to Treat Father Christmas' which starts on both evenings at 7.30pm.
