A RETIRED headteacher, who this summer will take on a life-changing volunteer position in Nepal, has paid tribute to all those who supported a fundraising sale held at her home.

Ann Mitchell, former headteacher at Gulworthy Primary School, held the plant, cake and book sale at her Tavistock home to raise funds for Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), through whom she will spend two years in Nepal, supporting and encouraging young girls in education.

Ann said: 'In total the sale raised £640 — a brilliant amount!'

Ann, who leaves for Nepal in August, said she would like to thank everyone who supported the event so generously.
