FOR the second year, thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising effort for Help for Heroes, during the summer months, by visiting our table of surplus plants and produce and contributing so generously with voluntary donations.

We are delighted that this year we have collected and sent £250 to H4H in support of their continued mission to offer practical assistance for wounded service personnel and to help launch them back into the next phase of their lives.

Thank you one and all.

AT our coffee morning we raised the grand total of £1,052.46 for the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal.

We have heard from the radio station that the amount raised was the highest figure made a a coffee morning for the air ambulance.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the local traders, market traders, Lidl, Fairway Furniture and the Wharf for their kind donations. Without their kind generosity we would not have had such a huge success.

A thank you must always go to all residents, families and friends who helped either on the day or with donations. We would also like to thank everyone who supported us on the day.

MAY I, through your newspaper, express my grateful thanks to all who contributed towards the £2,372.45 collected, in the Lamerton area, for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal this years: the extraordinary generosity of the givers, the willing helpers and, not least, your newspaper for its support.

PLEASE may I say a very big thank you to everyone who contributed to, helped at and supported the Cancer Research coffee morning on Friday November 11 in the Parish Rooms.

You helped us raise in excess of £555, which is a wonderful amount, and 99p in every £1 is used by Cancer Research UK to fund research and invest in the future with 40 trials happening at Derriford Hospital at any one time funded by the charity.

MANY thanks to everyone who came to our charity quiz night in Whitchurch School on November 12. Ten teams, fuelled by fierce intellectual competitiveness, houmous and Shiraz, battled for nothing more than glory and a toy car.

We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did and will come again next year!

The evening raised £428 for Save The Children and we are grateful to everyone who attended or helped.
