I WRITE as librarian for the Tavistock Mobile Library to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the lovely people of Yelverton and area who turned out on Saturday January 28 to show fulsome support for my mobile library and local libraries in general.

I and my colleagues were indeed impressed by the number of people gathered.

I must also express my regret and disappointment insofar as the mobile library was that day not centre stage in the photograph on the front page of this paper but in the garage for necessary repairs. I know all concerned worked so hard to prepare the van for the occasion but it was not to be!

Nevertheless, I can say that the Tavistock Mobile Library is on the road again and I look forward to being back in Yelverton so that I may be able to thank personally some of the people I see in the photograph.
