THREE members of Tavistock Tennis Club are taking part in the Mannamead Lawn Tennis Club Winter League.

Phil Harbottle and Phil Ruse are at present in the middle of division one while Ron Skinner and his partner are near the top of division two.

The Tavistock singles' Winter Ladder has been well supported, with 30 members taking part.

The club's resident coach, Linden Hardisty, continues on the top wrung. He is available for coaching by calling 01822 610846.

Max Goodison and Fizz Ward lost against Sue Parsons and Ron Skinner in the Hospice Cup but won 6-4, 6-2 against Olga Rogers and Ray Hinton in the mixed doubles' knockout tournament.

n Tavistock Tennis Club's annual meeting will take place at the Club House tonight (February 3) at 7.30pm. If members cannot attend, they are kindly requested to complete and return the proxy form — the result of which will have implications for the club membership.
