Carlsberg South West Peninsula premier
Tavistock AFC 3
Dartmouth 3
THE Lambs started at a blistering pace producing high tempo quality football. They completely dominated the first half and they took a three goal lead in the first 40 minutes.
The first came in the 19th minute when Ben Davies set up Shane Krac with a great reverse pass, to fire pass Dartmouth keeper Nathan Murphy, from the edge of the penalty area.
The home side increased their lead in the 21st minute when Will Stringer rose majestically to head home from a Shane Krac corner kick. Krac then got his second of the match when with some great ball control, before scoring from 12 yards out.
It looked like the Lambs were going in with a three goal lead at half time, but this was not the case, as in the last minute of the first half the visitors were awarded a free kick wide on the right flank. The cross from Simon Lewcock was headed into the net by Richie Hammett.
The Lambs were very slow out of the blocks in the second half, and with only two minutes gone the Darts got a second goal. Striker Tom Comyn was brought down by Will Stringer for a penalty which Simon Lewcock converted.
The visitors showed great character and the game was now flowing from end to end.
The Lambs had some good opportunities to increase their lead, while the visitors were becoming more and more threatening on the break.
The visitors comeback was complete in the 75th minute when Jordan Havelin burst down the left wing cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot that flew into the top corner of the Lambs goal.
The game continued to flow with both sides having scoring opportunities, but the scores remained level at the final whistle.
The Lambs will be disappointed to have surrendered a three goal lead. Credit must be given to Dartmouth for their tremendous spirit and for the way they made such a remarkable come back.
It means Tavistock remain fourth, with Falmouth losing at home to Buckland, three points from this game would have put the Lambs in third place.
