A TAVISTOCK company has received a top business accolade just ten months months after earning the royal stamp of approval.

Pixon Lane based FromLucy, which creates personalised, illustrated gifts and run by husband and wife team Lucy Tapper and Steve Wilson, received the order last year through its website for its popular ‘Day You Were Born’ print for Princess Charlotte, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — since then the business has continued to grow from strength to strength.

And last week, the duo were ‘beyond excited’ to have won the ‘partner of the year - breakthrough business’ at the Not On The High Street (NOTHS) Make Awards 2017.

For the award, NOTHS judges take in to account how the thousands of sellers have performed and their success on the site, which offers personalised, unique gifts for any occasion.

Steve said: ‘This is a massive acknowledgement for us as there are 6,000 sellers on NOTHS and we have managed to work hard to climb into the top five per cent of sellers.

‘Lucy and I are published authors and our breakthrough has been to personalise children‘s books based on the “Day You Were Born” print, which was given to Princess Charlotte and Prince George. Having the royal seal of approval for the print gave us the inspiration for the books and there is nothing else like them around.’

The ‘Day You Were Born’ book is created individual to each baby, containing unique facts and information, and brought together in a lovely story illustrated and written by Steve and Lucy.

Steve added: ‘It is lovely to be acknowledged for all our hard work especially the last year as it has been a huge year of growth.

‘It’s been an incredible year and none of it would have been possible without our loyal, wonderful team at FromLucy. We are indebted to all at DartPrint, everyone at Tavistock Picture Framing Gallery, Tavistock Photo, Vertical Plus, This Pretty Room and Dartmoor Photographic — and everyone else who has helped us grow this last year.’
