South Zeal United 4 Dunkerswell 4 WITH three key players missing a draw might have seemed a good result for Zeal, but 4-2 up with 10 minutes to go Zeal managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. Zeal started the game well and took the lead after 10 minutes, when Redd Cann beat for or five players before slotting home from close range after some good approach play had put him through on goal. Then, with Zeal looking very comfortable, the visitors reduced the deficit when a free kick from the right was headed in at the far post. Zeal then went 3-1 up when Jerry Stephens played a great ball through to Darren who rounded the visitors? keeper, finished coolly into an empty net. Zeal kept creating chances and it was against the run of play when Dunkerswell scored from another set piece to make the score 3-2. The ball not being cleared enabled a shot from close range to give Adam Cann in the Zeal goal no chance. Chris Stephens was having a great game at the back for Zeal, as was Steve Pillivant, who was hitting some super balls through to Darren and Jerry. It was from one of these passes after 15 minutes of the second half that saw Jerry Stephens run in on goal, round the keeper and score easily from close range to restore Zeal?s two-goal advantage. With 10 minutes of the match remaining it seemed that all three points were in the bag, but Dunkerswell had not read the script and scored two goals from long throw-ins to gain an unlikely point. This week Westexe Rovers home, ko 3pm.
