FOUR girls from West Devon and East Cornwall achieved 'outstanding' results in the Royal School of Church Music Cornwall Area Awards last month. The St Joseph's School students, Kathryn Halliday from Callington and Philippa Tennant from Okehampton, received a Dean's Award, and Hannah Harrison from Tavistock and Hannah Whiteley from Okehampton received a Bishop's Award. The candidates worked hard during their spare time to ensure everything was ready for the examination. Their hard work paid off as they all passed with either a merit or distinction. The award winners sang the Franck's Motet 'Panis Angelicus' as part of the Festival Service, which this year followed the Roman Catholic order for evening prayer.
