Point-to-Point horse racing continues on Sunday when the Spooners & West Dartmoor host their meeting at Cherrybrook near Tavistock.

Seven races are on offer with a start time of 1.30pm.

Condy Mathias are sponsoring the opening maiden race which offers an ideal opportunity to see some possible stars of the future starting their careers. Entries include Aunt Lilly (Ed Walker), runner up in two of her points to date, and Looking For Larry, another who could improve on his second place recently.

‘This is a must day out in the spring weather enjoying the fresh air in the countryside,’ said an event spokesperson. ‘The course offers fabulous viewing, hot and cold food and refreshments, along with bar, bookies and a host of tradestands. There is also a novelty raffle for booze in the barrow, where you win both.’ Entry is paid on the gate, children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome.
