A TAVISTOCK hairdresser has been presented with a top award for her inspirational hairstyle. Louisa Pallett, 20, attended the recent Vaughan's Extravaganza, which saw stylists from the Vaughan's salons in Plymouth and Tavistock compete for various categories. Louisa, of Vaughan's salon on Market Road, was given the top award for junior stylist due to her creative 'bow' hairstyle under the topic 'serenity'. It took Louisa an hour and a half to complete the hairstyle on model Charlotte Jude, who wore a cream outfit to enhance the feeling of serenity. Louisa said: 'My inspiration of "serenity" came from within. I have achieved a sleek, sophisticated, yet modern look, using the subtle contrast of pink and ash blonde colours in the hair which enhances the elegance of the style.' Her prize was a prestigious cutting and colouring course held by Keune, a hair product manufacturer based in Amsterdam, where top stylists from all over Europe attend. The competition at the Copthorne Hotel in Plymouth also saw Plymouth hairdresser Ashley Farmer win the second year junior award, while Tavistock hairdresser Ruth Povey, of Vaughan's Brook Street salon, won the first year junior category.
